“Hi Resonance Quartet,

First of all, listening to your Pachelbel – Canon in D performance brought me to tears! You guys are awesome!! … …”

I suppose that was good enough reason for Rachel to book us for 4 sets for her wedding at the classy St Regis hotel on 12 Sep.

Well, Rachel was clearly enjoying herself :)

.. while we (including a hotel staff behind Rachel) look on with amusement..

String Quartet for Corporate Event – Honav Appreciation Dinner

Honav Appreciation Dinner on 16 August 2010.

This is a corporate event by Honav at the Asian Civilisations Museum, the official product licensee for the Olympic Games and the Youth Olympic Games. This appreciation dinner was to thank the whole team for the success of the product sales in the recent Youth Olympic Games held in Singapore. While the guests partook in a sumptuous spread of buffet, we provided soothing music to complement the colonial facade.

As Jay was in Austria and Simeon in America, we got Zabrina and Christoven to fill in.

Lunch Performance for Wedding Anniversary

Andrew wanted a surprise for his wife for their wedding anniversary, and thought a string quartet would be ideal. We promptly agreed, and stealthily set up our instruments and positions. We started with Pachelbel’s Canon in D.

Mrs Benbow, stirred up from her nap, walked into the living room. I took a quick glance, and saw her cupping her mouth in surprise when she saw the 4 of us, decked in suits, playing right in her house. Our hearts were warmed when we saw her sob tears of joy as Andrew came over and gave her a big hug.

While we continued playing, they proceeded to their sheltered patio to have lunch.

We had a short chat with the couple, and found out that Mrs Andrew used to play the viola. Initially, when she heard our playing of Canon in D from her room, she thought Andrew had turned up the stereo really loud!

We would like to applaud Andrew for being so thoughtful, and to thank him for having us, and being so nice to send us the above pictures and a testimonial:

“I had the Resonance Quartet play in my home this August 2010 as a surprise gift for my wife on our anniversary. We were both delighted with their performance.  I found them to be very professional musically (most important) but also in a business sense. They understood exactly what I wanted and delivered a perfect accompaniment to a lovely, anniversary lunch. I would recommend them very highly.”
