Resonance Quartet will be playing at Outdoors Cafe/Acid Bar along Orchard Road (map link) on 30th Oct for their Halloween theme party – Halloween Killed The Video Stars. Our in-house composer Tan Wen Bin has arranged some Video Games music, such as a Mario Brothers Medley and themes from Ragnarok and Starcraft, specially for this event! There is also a Best Costume Contest! See flyer below for details!
The same day saw us perform for Sisca & Greg’s solemnisation at Raffles Hotel, then for Singapore Veterinary Association’s Annual Conference Opening Dinner in the evening at Hilton Hotel.

Sisca and Greg chose to have their solemnisation at The Lawn, an open grass patch surrounded by the charming colonial architecture of the iconic Raffles Hotel. We played before the solemnisation to entertain arriving guests, for the march-in, march-out, and then some more as the guests lingered around for drinks and photos.

It was bright, sunny and hot, but that didn’t deter the guests from sitting through the whole ceremony, offering their wishes to and taking pictures with the couple. In fact, it took longer than expected and we were asked to extend our set so as to maintain the lively atmosphere, which we gamely did.
Surrounded by the lush greenery of the Botanic Gardens and basking in the warm glow from the evening sunset, our Violin Duo of Wen Jin and Jay marched down the aisle playing Pachelbel’s Canon in D. The couple of Jade and Jingliang followed behind and walked gracefully into the white pavilion, filled with happy guests and their best wishes.

After the solemnisation, the full Resonance Quartet was out in full force to entertain the guests as they enjoyed their dinner buffet at Villa Halia.

The couple had requested in advance for us to play the accompanying music – Henry Mancini’s Moon River – for their waltz dance as the end of our set . We were able to compose a string quartet arrangement of the piece and customise it to a tempo that suited their dancing – a perfect way to end the night on a high note.
