A cosy and initmate wedding affair was what Frankie and Tina went for, with some light string music as an elegant accompaniment to the solemnisation ceremony.

We kicked off June 2011 with 2 back-to-back wedding gigs. On 11 June, performed for David’s wedding cocktail reception at the Shangri-La Hotel.

The next day, the Resonance Quartet was at the Raffles Hotel performing for Brian’s wedding. The solemnisation ceremony was held outside the East India Rooms next to the water fountain, and we played as the procession and bride marched-in. We then shifted inside the banquet room where we played to the couple’s march-in, and then entertained the guests with 2 sets of music as they proceeded with their lunch.

String Quartet for Solemnisation at The Lawn, Raffles Hotel

Sisca and Greg chose to have their solemnisation at The Lawn, an open grass patch surrounded by the charming colonial architecture of the iconic Raffles Hotel. We played before the solemnisation to entertain arriving guests, for the march-in, march-out, and then some more  as the guests lingered around for drinks and photos.

It was bright, sunny and hot, but that didn’t deter the guests from sitting through the whole ceremony, offering their wishes to and taking pictures with the couple. In fact, it took longer than expected and we were asked to extend our set so as to maintain the lively atmosphere, which we gamely did.
