Thomas celebrated his birthday in style at the St Regis earlier in August this year. An “international” event it was, considering friends and family flew into Singapore from all around the world for this occasion. Thomas requested Resonance Quartet to perform some live string music for his event, and to put on flower lapels on our jackets! (Thomas owns a flower business, apparently)

Wedding at St Regis

One thing leads to another! Cathy, Rachel‘s cousin, engaged us for her wedding this July at the St Regis hotel. What’s unique about this engagement is that Wen Bin, our cellist and arranger, customised for string quartet, a set of Medieval music by Henry Tudor VIII. Cathy and Sandy have specially requested for “Greensleeves” to be arranged for their march-in, with the Tudors having a special meaning for them. They did a little Tudor dance while being accompanied with our playing of “Greensleeves”, to the warm smiles and applause from the guests of this cosy and intimate party.

Cathy and Sandy analysing Wen Bin’s arrangements.

Very sweet of the couple to send us an e-card after the wedding!

“Hi Resonance Quartet,

First of all, listening to your Pachelbel – Canon in D performance brought me to tears! You guys are awesome!! … …”

I suppose that was good enough reason for Rachel to book us for 4 sets for her wedding at the classy St Regis hotel on 12 Sep.

Well, Rachel was clearly enjoying herself :)

.. while we (including a hotel staff behind Rachel) look on with amusement..
