Wedding at Swiss Club

Our first wedding gig for December brought us to the Swiss Club for Maria and Jengming’s wedding solemnisation and luncheon. We played a requested piece – Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, arranged by our cellist Wen-Bin – as the couple walked down the spiral stairs from the level above us, to the converted dining area that overlooks lush greenery.

For our second gig of 13 Nov, we headed to Sentosa island to perform for Bjoern and Agnes’ wedding at Amara. We played for the march-in and solemnisation held in a lovely glass pavilion, and entertained the guests with a second set at the surrounding garden.

String Quartet for Wedding at Les Amis

We started our first gig on 13 Nov at Les Amis for Adrian and Yen’s solemnisation and luncheon. The quartet was positioned at an open area on the second level of the restaurant, overlooking the diners on the first level. With a pretty chandelier above, an evocative painting at the side and a wine cellar behind us, the ambience was set for us to perform our repertoire for a classy and elegant wedding.

What really made our day was an SMS that Yen sent later that night:

Hi Jay, Adrian and I, including our guests were impressed by your performance. Thanks for spicing up the celebration. Please extend our appreciation to your team mates. ;)

String Quartet for Wedding at the Botanic Gardens

Surrounded by the lush greenery of the Botanic Gardens and basking in the warm glow from the evening sunset, our Violin Duo of Wen Jin and Jay marched down the aisle playing Pachelbel’s Canon in D. The couple of Jade and Jingliang followed behind and walked gracefully into the white pavilion, filled with happy guests and their best wishes.

After the solemnisation, the full Resonance Quartet was out in full force to entertain the guests as they enjoyed their dinner buffet at Villa Halia.

The couple had requested in advance for us to play the accompanying music – Henry Mancini’s Moon River – for their waltz dance as the end of our set . We were able to compose a string quartet arrangement of the piece and customise it to a tempo that suited their dancing – a perfect way to end the night on a high note.

“Hi Resonance Quartet,

First of all, listening to your Pachelbel – Canon in D performance brought me to tears! You guys are awesome!! … …”

I suppose that was good enough reason for Rachel to book us for 4 sets for her wedding at the classy St Regis hotel on 12 Sep.

Well, Rachel was clearly enjoying herself :)

.. while we (including a hotel staff behind Rachel) look on with amusement..

Wedding Performance at Viet Lang, The Arts House

23 May was Bryan and Jodie’s solemnisation lunch at the quaint Viet Lang restaurant at The Arts House.

Meant as a surprise to the bride Jodie,  her bunch of girlfriends had our Violin Duo (Wen Jin and Jay) play Pachelbel’s Canon in D as she marched-in.

We might be getting a video from the lovely girls and we hope to be able to put it up soon!
